About IITACB
Our Story
A pioneering initiative, IITACB has been envisioned as a vibrant hub for collaboration, innovation, and lifelong learning. Officially endorsed by the Ministry of Education, Government of India through the IIT Council, it is the only IIT alumni entity with its own brick-and-mortar facility. Spread across 93,000 square feet in Bommasandra, the Centre brings together alumni, academia, and industry while preserving the spirit and culture of the IITs.

Sunil Khanna
Sunil joined Emerson Process Management in India in 2004 and was appointed MD in 2006. Prior to joining Emerson, he was engaged with ABB India and held various leadership positions including Vice President – Automation Technology. Sunil also has vast international work experience including postings in Singapore, Indonesia, UK and USA.
Sunil holds a Master of Technology (M. Tech) in Electrical Engineering from IIT, Kanpur and a Bachelor of Technology (B. Tech) in Electronics Engineering from IIT-BHU
Samir Kumar
Samir became an early-stage venture investor in 2001 following a 15-year operating career in the IT industry.
Samir spent a large part of his industry career as part of Wipro (NYSE: WIT), one of India’s well known IT companies. Samir was an integral part of Wipro’s joint venture with Acer Computer in Taiwan to build and sell computers for the Indian market.
Samir became a VC in 2001 when he joined Acer Technology Ventures (ATV) – a $260 million institutional venture fund investing in technology and services companies in India, U.S. and Asia Pacific. Post ATV, Samir co-founded Inventus, and has been an integral part of the three funds that Inventus has raised, including the most recent Inventus III – India Fund.
He holds a B.Tech (EE) from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay and an MBA from Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Bangalore.
Satyam Suwas
Prof. Abha Misra
A distinguished researcher in nanomaterials and energy storage, Prof. Misra co-invented a light-activated supercapacitor in 2022. Her group at IISc continues to explore sustainable electronics. She is actively involved in translational research, bridging physics and real-world applications in energy.
Anand Talwai
A veteran of Wipro, Talwai co-founded NextWealth, a pioneering social enterprise that delivers AI/ML services from Tier-2 Indian towns. He promotes inclusive growth and technology-driven job creation. He also mentors startups and serves on the board of Pawaa Software.
Ashok Kamath
Former MD of Analog Devices India, Kamath is now a leading education reformer. Under his leadership, Akshara Foundation improved foundational learning for 7+ million children. He is also a trustee at Pratham Books, promoting open-access learning in Indian languages.
Prof. Ashok Misra
A polymer science pioneer, Prof. Misra served as IIT Bombay’s director (2000–2009). He recently received the Polymer Processing Society’s 2024 Fellow Award. He has held senior roles at Intellectual Ventures and advises global research bodies.
Dhananjay “DJ” Collur
An IIT Kharagpur alumnus and ex-founder of Computer Factory, Collur now focuses on rural digital education. He helped design eShala, a digital-learning initiative reaching 12,000+ rural students. He is also a musician and community mentor.
Prof. K.S. Narayan
A physicist known for his work in polymer optoelectronics and bio-compatible materials, Prof. Narayan has led innovations in organic solar cells and vision prosthetics. He served as interim president of JNCASR and co-founded the deep-tech startup ℏω.
Prof. Pradipta Banerji
Former Director of IIT Roorkee, Banerji is an earthquake engineering expert. He serves on boards of Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd and Cochin Shipyard Ltd, blending academia and national infrastructure development. He has received IIT Bombay’s Excellence in Teaching Award.
K. Shanmugam
Kumar Nadig
An IIT Bombay and University of Toronto graduate, Nadig has led Sycon Infra in delivering premium real estate and hospitality projects across South India. He is known for integrating sustainability in construction practices and entrepreneurship.
M. Thiyagarajan (Rajan)
A thought leader in SaaS and tech policy, Rajan authored the Value SaaS Basecamp and connects Indian founders to global M&A opportunities. He co-founded two startups and now mentors emerging SaaS businesses and policy initiatives in India.
Cdr. Pradeep Prasad (Retd.)
After a distinguished career in the Indian Navy and IBM, he turned to social entrepreneurship. He is co-founder of KRI Trust and a senior advisor in strategic technology implementation. Recognised by IBM for his pandemic resilience planning.
Dr. Susheela Venkataraman
An IIT Delhi and BITS Pilani graduate, she led enterprise IT at the Asian Development Bank. Now on multiple nonprofit boards, she supports digital health, education, and startup ecosystems, and mentors women in STEM.
V.P. Baligar IAS (Retd.)
A senior Karnataka-cadre officer, Baligar led industrial policy and infrastructure development for over three decades. He served as CMD of HUDCO, India’s housing and urban development PSU, and influenced affordable housing policy nationwide.

R.B. “Dinar” Bhatkar
An IIT Bombay graduate (1976), he became the first Goan on IITB’s board of governors. He led DCS Techno in delivering global engineering services and received IIT Bombay’s Distinguished Service Award for alumni engagement.
Ramesh Rao Nidambur
Ramesh Rao Nidambur graduated with BTech [1976] & MTech [1978] degrees from IITM; worked with TELCo, L&T & GREW. Started own Specialized Fabrication & Automatic-Welding Development-Shop in 1984 for meeting the worldwide requirement of Nuclear Energy, Defence, Aerospace, O&G, Ship-building, High-Speed Railways, Bio Pharma, & other Sectors. Also provides Consultancy, Technology Governance, Project-Management, Auditing & Certification Services [DVS Zert GmbH] to Industry for meeting International Manufacturing Standards. Holds Patents for Advanced Manufacturing Processes,mentors pre-Startup Innovators to lead programs for VIKSIT BHARAT 2047, & hosts IITACB’s open forum initiative “ALUMS’ Den” for interfacing IIT’s Alumni with Industry & other Stakeholders. Sanjeev Sikka
A business leader with interests in hospitality, tech, and education. He is involved with Arbor Brewpub, digital ventures like Nfotec, and has over five decades of experience in corporate governance. Public biographical data remains limited.
Seema Sibbal
She leads brain-health and basic-education initiatives for Rotary Midtown. In 2023, she signed an MoU with NIMHANS to launch India’s first community-based brain health program. She is active in Rotary’s mental health and financial literacy outreach.
Prof. Suryasarathi Bose
A polymer nanocomposites expert, he became full professor in 2022 and now leads translational engineering at IISc. He is Editor-in-Chief of Journal of Materials Science: Composites and board member of Nature Communications: Earth & Environment. He received the INSA Fellowship in 2025.
Dr. Siddhartha Das
With over 40 startup investments and 9 major exits, Dr. Das is a seasoned VC and semiconductor expert. He holds a Ph.D. from Cornell, five U.S. patents, and serves on advisory boards for global semiconductor research consortia.
Dr. G.K. Ravikumar
With a PhD in data mining and two decades of teaching and industry experience, Dr. Ravikumar mentors students and innovators in data analytics, cloud computing, and big data architecture. He’s actively involved in innovation and patent projects at BGS Global.
Dr G N Shrinivas
management consulting. He has led transformational technology initiatives at scale — across Fortune 100 companies, startups, and global capability centers.
Shrini thrives at the intersection of systems thinking and real-world impact. Whether it’s engineering global ecommerce platforms, conceptualizing oncology centers, or mentoring young leaders, he brings curiosity, clarity, and compassion to every engagement.
Currently based in Bengaluru, Shrini is a strong voice in India’s startup and technology leadership ecosystem.
Ramjee Ganti
Ramjee Ganti is the VP of Engineering at Fiddler AI. Ramjee has spent over two decades building and scaling engineering teams across fast-moving sectors such as ecommerce, food-tech, fintech, mar-tech, and ad-tech. His blend of technical depth, product thinking, and business clarity sets him apart.
He has led cross-geo teams, managed diverse engineering groups, and has a rare ability to simplify complex ideas for any audience. This makes him an exceptional guide for founders navigating uncertainty and rapid growth.
Rohit Koshy
He is active in alumni networks of multiple schools, colleges and corporates, and has been organising meet ups since 2002.
Rohit has had a tough life – war refugee in 1990, flunked a year at IIT (4 point someone), spent 7 months searching for his first job after graduation, took the CAT 6 time to get into an IIM, multiple failed startups . . . about which he regularly gives talks at colleges (including IITs and IIMs).
He has been involved in many path breaking initiatives, like India’s first college alumni venture fund, and India’s first college endowment fund.
