The IIT Alumni Club Bangalore will host key members of B.PAC for an invigorating discussion on what B.PAC is all about and how they intend to Walk their Talk

A few days ago, fellow-IIT alum, Narayana Murthy, was the key speaker at the public launch of the Bangalore Political Action Committee (B.PAC).

B.PAC has been established to promote a good quality of life for all citizens of the metropolis, through promoting good governance, integrity and transparency in all arms of the government, and improving the broken infrastructure in this city. In addition, B.PAC will identify and support strong candidates for public offices at all levels of governance from Bangalore city.

The IIT Alumni Club Bangalore will host key members of B.PAC for an invigorating discussion on what B.PAC is all about and how they intend to Walk their Talk. They’re aware, that as an enlightened citizen group, the IIT Alumni will ask hard questions and they’re prepared for a lively interaction with us

Key members of B.PAC who will join us include:

Ashwin Mahesh is a Professor at IIM Bangalore, and co-founder and editor of the national public affairs magazine, India Together. He heads the social technology firm, Mapunity, and has worked on a number of urban development issues in Bangalore over the last few years.

A member of the 1976 batch of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Mr K. Jairaj recently retired as Additional Chief Secretary to Government of Karnataka. He has held distinguished appointments in the infrastructure, energy, transport and urban development sectors including Additional Chief Secretary, chairman, BESCOM; and, Managing Director, Bangalore International Airport Ltd.

The event is free for IIT Alumni Club members. IIT Alumni who are not yet members of the Club, will pay a nominal charge of Rs. 400/- per person to cover expenses.

We’d like non-members to join the Club. You can sign up for membership at the venue (Membership for life is Rs. 1 lakh, so please bring your cheque books along).

Date: Sunday, 10th March at 10.30 am onwards, at the Bangalore International Centre, Domlur.

Brief Agenda:

10.30 – 11.15 am – Tea and biscuits
11.15 – 12.45pm- Discussion with B.PAC folks, including Q&A
12.45pm onwards – Lunch (at the BIC)
