(An IIT Alumni Centre Exclusive Event)

As we celebrate the 69th anniversary of our independence, we renew the discussion on the role of IITians in nation building. Join an expert panel in debating the increasing role of IITians in development, technology and economic growth.

Close to 10000 IITians graduate from the 17 institutes and many of them are taking the plunge into Indian industry or forming startups. More IITians are working in the social sector or joining government and politics. Indian industry is filled with CEOs and leaders who are IIT alumni. Are we now waking up to the call of nation building or has this always been there?

On Independence Day, IIT Alumni Centre brings back the spotlight on the role of IITians in the development of our nation. From technology to education, entrepreneurship to government, IITians have a larger role than ever before to shape policies, build systems and spur economic growth.

Dr Kota Harinarayana, eminent IITian and Padma Shri who has had a large role in the development of India's indigenous aeronautical programme will lead and moderate the discussion.

Our distinguished panel has experts from different areas and walks to provide a holistic perspective on nation building

. KG Narayanan (IITKgp) - Retd Distinguished Scientist, DRDO & Professor Emeritus IIT Kharagpur

. Pradeep Bhargava (IITK) - Management Consultant, CEO Beyond Blue & earlier COO, Mercedes Benz

. Dilip Kumar PJ (IITB) - Formerly Director General of Forests & Special Secretary (DGF & SS), Ministry of Environment & Forests

. Vijay Bhaskar Reddy (IITM) - Founder of KisanRaja (IoT for Agriculture) & Pioneer in Mobile Technology for Farmers

Join us in this discussion at the August TSMM (Third Saturday Monthly Meeting) and engage in the debate and networking with other alumni. We welcome families to join our celebration of this momentous day. Please also do bring along any friends and guests.

TSMM is a friendly and relaxed way to meet friends and make new acquaintances. We have snacks and soft drinks during the session and dinner afterwards. A cash bar is also arranged at the venue which is part of Koramangala Club.

Rs 300 per person including dinner. Free for Centre and Event Members of IITACB and Affiliate Members of other IIT Alumni societies. Children are welcome and our dinner spread is child friendly.
