Start-up Policy of Karnataka

(An IIT Alumni Centre Exclusive Event)


Gaurav will share with IIT alumni on how the Start-up Policy can help promote ventures to boost entrepreneurship to create jobs and will touch upon incentives Karnataka Government offers for Startups.

Gaurav Gupta Joined Indian Administrative Service (IAS) in 1990 of Karnataka Cadre and has experience of over 24 years in the fields of Infrastructure Development, Power, Transportation, Urban Development, Industry and Commerce and is currently the Commissioner, Department of Industries and Commerce, Government of Karnataka.

He did his B.Tech from IIT Kanpur 1983-1987 and M. Tech from IIT Delhi 1987-1989 and has been a guiding force for IIT Alumni Center Bengaluru.

Karnataka is the first state to announce Start up policy that played a major role in making Bangalore World's 2nd Fastest Growing Startup Ecosystem, Has Youngest Entrepreneurs says study Global Startup Ecosystem Ranking by San Francisco-based Compass.

Gaurav will share with IIT alumni on how the Start-up Policy helps promote ventures boost entrepreneurship to create jobs and will touch upon incentives Karnataka Government offers for Startups.
